William Saliba reacts to "contact" with Real Madrid A star for Arsenal

As the north London club makes a definitive choice regarding his future, William Saliba, a central defender for Arsenal, has responded to Real Madrid after the Los Blancos contacted the Gunners star, according to a trustworthy source.

Saliba has long been associated with Real Madrid and is among the Premier League's top defenders.

Even though Los Blancos signed Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth this summer, reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano stated back in May that Saliba remains Madrid's ideal target.

According to recent Spanish rumours, Xabi Alonso, the new manager of Real Madrid, is still determined to buy a centre-back during the summer transfer window.

David Alaba has struggled with injuries, Eder Militao, 27, has had his own fitness problems, and Raul Asencio did not do well at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Antonio Rudiger is 32. According to a July 25 Spanish source, Madrid has dispatched a delegation to London and is in "talks" with Arsenal and Saliba's team regarding a summer contract.

The Premier League champions have made the defender a new offer, which he is currently evaluating, while Los Blancos have been concentrating on trying to sign Ibrahima Konate, whose contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the upcoming campaign.

Journalist Sam Cohen has revealed that Saliba has rejected Madrid, saying that Saliba's team has informed the Spanish and European powerhouses that he does not want to leave this summer due to the 2026 World Cup finals. Journalist Cohen posted on X on July 26 at 9:55 a.m.

"Arsenal remains steadfast in their belief that William Saliba will extend his contract, which they want him to do."

Real Madrid and Saliba's team have communicated in recent weeks, but they were informed that Saliba is happy at Arsenal and has no intention of moving before the World Cup.

William Saliba's future is set by Arsenal despite Real Madrid's desire.

Cohen is not alone in saying that Arsenal has no intention of selling Saliba during the summer transfer window; according to three additional sources, the north London team is determined that the 24-year-old central defender will remain.

Even if Los Blancos offer Arsenal €100 million (£87.4 million, $117.5 million) for Saliba, the Gunners will not part with the France international central defender, according to a Spanish publication with close ties to the Madrid hierarchy, AS.

According to Real Madrid Confidencial, Arsenal is not interested in selling Saliba to Madrid this summer. According to Football Transfers, Saliba and Arsenal are negotiating a new contract.

The Premier League team is certain that their valued asset will sign a new contract with the Gunners until 2029, as the defender's current one expires in the summer of 2027.

Current Arsenal news: Berta becomes merciless, and the star accepts on personal conditions

One of the top players in the Premier League has reached a personal agreement with Arsenal, and Andrea Berta, the Gunners' sporting director, is personally attempting to finalise the transaction.

As Berta becomes more brutal in his efforts to retain only the finest players, Arsenal is prepared to sell their second-highest player this summer.

Viktor Gyokeres, the Sweden international striker, is on the verge of joining Arsenal after a coach blasted him for his actions during his last days at Sporting CP.
