The second United agreement is in grave danger as the fearsome attacker REJECTS Manchester United's move to sign with Liverpool.

A second United move might fall through as a result of a £70 million forward turning down Manchester United and agreeing to a contract to join Liverpool.

For Manchester United supporters, the transfer window has been difficult thus far because many of their fiercest competitors have already made many acquisitions and are working on numerous others.

In fact, when the arrivals of Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, and Cristhian Mosquera are finalised and announced, Arsenal's significant signing total will rise to SIX in the days ahead.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is poised to acquire a striker valued at £70 million who has reportedly rejected Manchester United. 

They have previously signed players like Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong. 

The man in question is Hugo Ekitike, and according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool and the Frankfurt striker have reached a six-year personal agreement.

Newcastle had made a £70 million proposal for the 23-year-old, who was also considered Liverpool's main backup in the event that Alexander Isak could not be signed. 

The official bid that Liverpool made for Ekitike was turned down by Frankfurt. But the Reds will come back with a better second offer, and every source agrees that Ekitike will join Anfield. 

The Reds are moving forward with a package valued "in excess" of €80 million or £70 million, according to David Ornstein. That is a setback for Newcastle, and Hawkins of RMC Sport says it is also a setback for Manchester United.

Man Utd "tried to get involved" in a late play for Ekitike, according to the French reporter. 

This is consistent with previous reports from Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, who stated that Manchester United was in the competition on an equal footing with Liverpool and Newcastle. 

Ekitike reportedly "rejected" Manchester United and stated that he only wanted to sign with Liverpool.

The transfer of Bryan Mbeumo is under grave jeopardy.

Newcastle's inability to sign Ekitike has repercussions at Old Trafford, so the bad news for Manchester United doesn't end there.

Thesportmoment was told that if Newcastle were not given the opportunity to sign Ekitike, they would seriously consider making a move for Brentford's Yoane Wissa. 

According to new reports released on Thursday by David Ornstein and Ben Jacobs, Newcastle is currently mobilising for the livewire attacker. 

Although Brentford is adamant about not losing both Wissa and Mbeumo, they are willing to sell one of them this summer.

As a result, Brentford may end Manchester United's pursuit of Mbeumo if Newcastle swiftly intensifies their offer for Wissa.

Man Utd must thus make a strong third attempt to acquire Mbeumo. About three weeks ago, the Red Devils submitted their second bid, which was for £62.5 million (£55 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons).

Although it hasn't been submitted yet, a third proposal has been the focus of intense conjecture, and Manchester United hasn't abandoned the move.

United is hesitant to overspend and make the same transfer errors that have led to the club's current predicament.

And United's attempt to acquire Mbeumo is now seriously in doubt after Brentford reportedly increased their asking price to £70 million.
