Amorim keeps Osimhen's "burning magnetism" going by making Manchester United one of four destinations.

With the striker still very much on Ruben Amorim's shopping list, Manchester United has been named as one of the four teams Victor Osimhen will select from this summer.

The Red Devils are also heavily linked to another Premier League star after losing out on Viktor Gyokeres. Up until now, the Red Devils have concentrated on bolstering their offensive during this summer window.

Wolves paid £62.5 million for Matheus Cunha, and Manchester United is now hoping to add Bryan Mbeumo to the mix. A third offer is now expected to be made for the Brentford forward.

Amorim, the manager of United, is aware that he still needs to acquire a centre striker specialist, but any upcoming high-profile addition is probably going to depend on sales first.

Although United has been heavily linked to a number of highly talented No. 9s, it looks that their first two options—Gyokeres, who is reportedly close to joining Arsenal, and Liam Delap, who left for Chelsea—have fallen through the cracks.

Despite that, United still have the option to bring in a world-class striker in Osimhen, whose future remains undecided after a season’s loan with Galatasaray.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that United is still very much in the running to sign the striker.

The pink paper describes the club as having a "burning magnetism" to sign the 26-year-old, and they still have high hopes of doing so even though they don't have any kind of European football to offer the player.

Since Osimhen's departure from Napoli has been characterised as inevitable and the star is reportedly expected to choose between four destinations, United is in fact viewed as a major contender to sign him.

In addition, they assert that Juventus is actively pursuing a deal alongside United, while Al-Hilal, who has already been turned down by the 40-time Nigerian striker, is still in the running and cannot be ruled out because their firm offer to sign him is still on the table.

Lastly, Galatasaray is reportedly still in the running to sign the player permanently, hoping that his year-long loan in Istanbul can persuade him to join on a full-time basis.

Gyokere's ambitions are dashed as Man Utd is reported to go for an Aston Villa player.

Curiously, the story makes no mention of Osimhen's potential transfer to Liverpool, even though the Merseysiders were reported to have put the Nigerian on a three-player striker wishlist this week, along with Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak.

Regarding Ekitike, Fabrizio Romano asserts that Eintracht Frankfurt is unwilling to lower its €100 million (£86.4 million, $118 million) asking price, making it "almost impossible" for United to get the Frenchman.

By contrast, any deal for Osimhen is expected to be significantly cheaper, with Napoli willing to his sale for a cost of roughly €75m (£64.8m, $88.4m) this summer – while their may even be opportunity for negotiation on that figure given the Serie A champions’ urgency to get rid.

Any hopes Amorim had of getting back together with Gyokeres seemed dashed when Sacha Tavolieri, a reporter for Sky Sports Switzerland, stated that Arsenal had reached a five-year agreement with the Swede and was now prepared to give a move to north London top priority.

According to The Mirror, United has given up on pursuing Gyokeres as a result.

According to them, Manchester United is "accepting defeat" against the prolific Swede and is "convinced" that he will play in north London the next season.

The report continued by saying that rather than pursuing a futile goal, Manchester United is now making a "concerted effort" to sign Ollie Watkins.

However, they are unwilling to pay Aston Villa's asking price of £60 million, with the Red Devils believing a deal can be reached for a lower sum.
