After Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool is negotiating to sign a €90 million superstar.

Hugo Ekitike's Liverpool is racing to the finish line, and according to several rumours, Real Madrid may pull off an even larger coup.

After Newcastle made it quite apparent that Alexander Isak was not for sale, Liverpool swiftly switched to Hugo Ekitike.

Earlier last week, Newcastle submitted a £70 million proposal for Ekitike, but they swiftly withdrew from the competition when they saw Liverpool was closing in.

Ben Jacobs and Fabrice Hawkins, two sources, have verified that Liverpool and the Eintracht Frankfurt striker have reached a personal agreement. A six-year contract has been agreed to.

Frankfurt rejected Liverpool's initial offer for Ekitike, but a better second offer is already being prepared and should be submitted soon.

David Ornstein of The Athletic later said that the clubs are negotiating a deal for "in excess" of €80 million or £70 million.

The media's reliable sources all support the assertion that Ekitike will end up at Anfield. However, based on the most recent reports from AS and talkSPORT, he might soon be followed by a more costly addition.

According to talkSPORT, Liverpool and Real Madrid are in the early stages of club-to-club negotiations about Rodrygo's transfer.

After been sidelined since Kylian Mbappe's arrival a year ago, the Brazilian, who the article refers to as a "wantaway," is prepared to depart the Spanish city.

Last season, when Carlo Ancelotti included an extra midfielder in his starting eleven, Rodrygo was frequently left out.

Rodrygo was benched for five straight games in the Club World Cup by new manager Xabi Alonso, who preferred Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. to lead the attack.

For a price of about €90 million or £78 million, Real Madrid is willing to sell Rodrygo.

Although their acquisition of Noni Madueke has raised questions about whether they will also sign Rodrygo, Arsenal has demonstrated genuine interest.

Liverpool is now in control, and AS writer Edu Burgos claims that the team's prospects of landing a deal are increasing.

It's real. Liverpool and his camp have already had discussions. Rodrygo is pleased with the interest, Burgos told The RedmenTV, adding that they dispatched an emissary to Madrid to speak with his family. He is amenable to a move.

The Premier League has always appealed to him. Even [Manchester] City made an attempt to sign him two summers ago. Guardiola gave him several calls.

Although he was grateful for the gift, he ultimately preferred to remain in Madrid.

Now that his preferences have shifted, he hopes to depart. Since he wants to be the team's star, which will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, at Real Madrid, I believe he will depart. It's probably 70-30, not 50-50, in my opinion.

He is amenable to a transfer, and I believe Liverpool might do so.

Luis Diaz, what about him?

According to the great majority of publications and sources, Liverpool won't complete a move for Rodrygo unless Luis Diaz is sold.

The Colombian, who contributed 25 goals to Liverpool last season and is coming off his finest season to date, is not someone the Reds are really looking to sell.

But Diaz has told Liverpool that he wants a new challenge, and Bayern Munich isn't going to accept Liverpool's first rejection.

Earlier this week, Liverpool turned down a €67.5 million/£58.5 million proposal from Bayern. Bayern is attempting a higher second bid in order to avoid being discouraged.

"While Liverpool's briefing is that Diaz is not for sale, he is pushing for the move to Germany and Bayern is ready to make an improved offer," writes Alex Crook, talkSPORT's lead transfer news reporter, in an explanation of how the pieces fit together.

I think Liverpool would profit if their proposal came close to the €100 million Bayern was willing to spend for [Florian] Wirtz.

Liverpool is still interested in Anthony Gordon if Diaz is moved, as they were close to acquiring the England winger from Newcastle last summer.

Preliminary discussions between the two clubs are thought to have taken place, and Real Madrid's want-away Brazilian Rodrygo would also be an eye-catching Diaz replacement."
