A second source claims that he is prepared to transfer to Old Trafford as Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim fulfils his dream, giving Manchester United a significant boost in their pursuit of a deadly striker.

After a terribly dismal season in which they lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final and placed 15th in the Premier League table, Manchester United has set out to improve for the 2025–2026 season.

Matheus Cunha, a forward for Brazil, was previously signed by Manchester United from Wolves, and manager Amorim plans to use him as one of his two number 10s. 

Bryan Mbeumo, a winger, is another player the Red Devils are negotiating with Brentford to sign during the summer transfer window. 

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee aren't showing up as the prolific striker the Red Devils need to compete with teams like Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, therefore they're also looking for a new striker.

Despite having in-person discussions with the Red Devils, Liam Delap, Man Utd's top striker target, chose to sign with Chelsea. 

Viktor Gyokeres, a striker for Sporting CP, has reportedly agreed a move to Old Trafford, therefore Manchester United has resumed its efforts to sign him.

Gyokeres is open to a move to Manchester United even without Champions League football," journalist Ben Jacobs told talkSPORT this week. 

He also mentioned that Amorim "has kept in contact with him since moving to Old Trafford."

Sporting, where Amorim worked with Gyokeres, is eager to sell him for £60 million even though his contract has an £85 million release clause.

TuttoJuve has confirmed that the 27-year-old striker has "already said yes to Manchester United," supporting Jacobs' allegation.

The article claims that Gyokeres "wants to reunite with Ruben Amorim" and that Manchester United is the front-runner for the Sporting star despite interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid. 

In 52 games last season, the striker scored 54 goals and provided 13 assists. This week, his teammate Zeno Debast called him "a monster" and "the most complete player I have ever seen" on HLN.

GiveMeSport claims that Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, has instructed his superiors to complete a deal for Gyokeres during the summer transfer window. 

According to the source, Amorim has "instructed" Man Utd officials to bring Gyokeres to Old Trafford after failing to sign Delap to Chelsea. 

The report states that the Portuguese tactician is hoping to see Gyokeres again at Old Trafford this summer and is now said to be getting closer to realising his dream.

According to GiveMeSport, Manchester United has "formally contacted" Sporting to find out the terms of a contract for the Sweden international striker. 

According to a rumour, Gyokeres is "Amorim's preferred striker target this summer.
