Everton is "shock contenders" to sign the Man City player, whom Moyes once referred to as "the best" in the Premier League.

Although some financial wrangling is necessary for the move, Everton has emerged as "shock contenders" to recruit Manchester City player Jack Grealish, who may leave the Etihad to improve his prospects of returning to the England squad.

Thomas Tuchel has excluded the 29-year-old from the England squad, and he needs to play frequently in the first team to gain the manager's attention.

In 2021, Man City paid £100 million to acquire Grealish from Aston Villa, breaking the British transfer record.

Since then, he has been a vital member of Pep Guardiola's squad. Grealish, however, only made 20 Premier League games in 2024–2025 and scored just one goal.

City is now amenable to the winger departing, but since suitors are unwilling to match his £300,000 weekly salary, they could have to approve a loan.

Thesportmoment exclusively reported on May 26 that if City were to make Grealish available for loan, Everton would be a team to keep an eye on.

Grealish has long been admired by David Moyes, who is eager to add attacking reinforcements this summer.

According to The Daily Mail, Everton is "monitoring" Grealish's circumstances and has become "shock contenders" to sign the former Villa player.

Everton views bold The Jack Grealish swoop

"No talks have taken place" between Everton and City, according to the Mail, but "the Merseyside outfit is aware of Grealish's availability."

According to The Friedkin Group, the Toffees' new owners, any agreement "would likely be in the shape of a loan deal."

Grealish's weekly salary of £300,000 is not fully paid by Everton, thus City must agree to cover a significant amount of his salary as part of the agreement.

Regarding Grealish in 2021, Moyes remarked, "He is a really good player and probably the best player in the Premier League at this time."

He is arguably the best player in the league at the moment and has done a fantastic job at that club."

Naturally, Grealish's consent would also be a prerequisite for a possible transfer to Everton.

The winger should ideally be playing regular European games, as England manager Tuchel has said. Tuchel stated, "He must play to make himself available.

His ability to go every three days and improve with each passing minute in his legs is, in my opinion, one of his main advantages.

That is the only thing lacking. In addition to his talent, Jack's personality is the reason I adore him.

He is a highly special player who can perform well under pressure. He never backs down from a challenge.

Although Grealish often plays on the left, Everton is prioritising the acquisition of a new right-winger. If the possibility arose, Moyes would seize the chance to recruit the City outcast.
