Tottenham is reportedly planning a surprise, "attractive" deal for a Chelsea forward.

According to a shocking claim, Tottenham Hotspur is preparing a bid to sign Christopher Nkunku, a forward for Chelsea.

Thesportmoment explains why such a trade is highly unlikely to occur.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham, two aspirational Premier League teams, will participate in the Champions League the next season.

Spurs secured their spot after winning the Europa League, while the Blues earned a spot in Europe's top club competition after placing fourth in the Premier League standings.

Spurs, like all other teams, will make additions during the summer transfer window, and Nkunku, a forward for Chelsea, is one of the players they have been connected to.

Since joining Chelsea in 2023, Nkunku has failed to make a significant impression.

This season, the French attacker earned just nine Premier League starts under Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

This season, Maresca has primarily employed Nkunku as a center-forward, and the 27-year-old hasn't done well.

Fichajes claims that Tottenham has developed feelings for Nkunku and is preparing a surprise raid on Chelsea to acquire him.

With a €45 million (£38 million, $51 million) option to purchase Nkunku, Spurs are "willing to negotiate an initial loan.

Chelsea, who are looking to offload a player who hasn't had the expected impact this season and at the same time recoup some of their investment," the report further stated, may find this proposal appealing.

Why Nkunku's transfer from Chelsea to Tottenham is highly improbable

The claim that Tottenham intends to raid Chelsea for Nkunku should be regarded with caution as Fichajes is not one of the most trustworthy sources.

Since Carlo Cudicini left the Blues for Spurs on a free transfer in January 2009, there haven't been any senior player transfers between the two Premier League teams, Tottenham and Chelsea, who are fierce rivals in London.

Tottenham is unlikely to be overly eager to make such a needless acquisition, and Nkunku has not had the best of years at Chelsea.

Although England international Cole Palmer plays as a number 10 at Chelsea, the Frenchman performs best in that position.

James Maddison is a natural number ten, while Dejan Kulusevski, a teammate at Tottenham, can also play out wide and function in that position.

In addition, Chelsea has set a very high price for the Frenchman. On May 23, Rudy Galetti, the Italian correspondent for Thesportmoment, reported that Chelsea had ordered Juventus to pay €70 million (£59 million, $79 million) for Nkunku.

Thesportmoment has been informed by sources that Juventus has already contacted Chelsea over a summer transfer for the attacker.

According to Thesportmoment, Newcastle United is also interested in the 27-year-old. Nkunku is also admired by Bayern Munich, who have investigated a potential trade for the Chelsea player.

Tottenham's offer to recruit Nkunku on loan for the upcoming season is unlikely to even be considered by Chelsea as a permanent option because of the high level of interest in him.

Spurs' top picks for the playmaker and Postecoglou's future

A report claims that Tottenham is the clear favourite to sign one of Europe's top playmakers.

What the Tottenham players want chairman Daniel Levy to do about head coach Postecoglou's future has been made public. Spurs, meanwhile, are predicted to sign Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich at a discounted price.
