Tottenham has the opportunity to sign a Man City player who "almost certainly" won't take one way.

A Manchester City star may be able to move to Tottenham since he is rumoured to "almost certainly not" accept one of the many routes that could be presented to him.

There will be changes at City this summer after they lost the championship for the first time in four years and now sit fourth in the Premier League.

The primary one is Kevin De Bruyne, who will be permitted to depart after playing in more than 400 games for the team.

Jack Grealish, who has only started seven league games this season, might follow him out of the midfield corps.

Tottenham is a fascinating alternative, but there has been a lot of speculation about his future.

Football financial specialist Stefan Borson has stated that one path will be completely ruled out. Borson told Football Insider, "There aren't many teams in the area that can afford to pay him the wages he's on right now."

As he hasn't featured much this season and earns over £300,000 a week, or more than £15 million annually, you would also think that City wouldn't be expecting a massive sum if they could get him off the salary bill.

That would be appropriate for Saudi Arabia, but Grealish's readiness to travel there at this point in his career is obviously a concern.

It is highly unlikely that anyone in the Premier League would be interested, thus that will likely be the case.

Spurs have reportedly expressed interest in the player. However, once more, the question is how that works financially since they won't be making the payments £300,000 each week, too.

The Napoli move was cancelled.

Borson also indicated he does not view Napoli as “one of” the sides who would be able to pay Grealish’s wages.

It was recently stated that Antonio Conte is a ‘huge fan’ of the Manchester City man.

Furthermore, according to that story, the Englishman is "open-minded" about leaving the Etihad and would actually prefer to go to another country.

However, such relocation won't occur if no one overseas can afford him. If he performs well, Napoli's best option might be to try to sign him on loan and handle the rest from there. With such a high salary, that may be the case for any team hoping to sign the star.

Tottenham round-up: Kyboshed Richarlison route

According to recent speculations, Richarlison's old team, Everton, may try to re-sign him from Tottenham.

But according to Bryan King, a former Spurs scout, he "certainly wouldn't buy" the Brazilian since he doesn't think he was particularly effective wearing a Toffees shirt.

Paul Robinson, a former Spurs goalie, has proposed Marc Guehi as the team's Cristian Romero replacement.

The likelihood that Romero will move on is increasing daily as a result of his departure. I think they will need two more if Romero does leave. "If they can sign Guehi before anyone else does, he would be at the top of the list."
