Man City will lose out on AC Milan's star after he accepts a move to Saudi Arabia, according to sources.

Thesportmoment understands that Al Hilal is prepared to make a big splash during the summer transfer window, and that one of their top targets is AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez.

The Saudi Pro League team is eager to bolster their roster in anticipation of the FIFA Club World Cup, as they prepare for an ambitious campaign the following season.

Hernandez is definitely on Al Hilal's radar, according to people familiar with the matter, and club executives have made great strides in recent weeks.

The 27-year-old Hernandez joined Milan in 2019 and has been instrumental in their recent success.

With 262 appearances, he has scored 34 goals and provided 45 assists for the Rossoneri. Hernandez has won two trophies with Milan, giving him a wealth of experience at the highest level.

There has been uncertainty over the Frenchman's future at San Siro for a while.

Since negotiations for a new contract with Milan have been stalled for nearly a year, Manchester City, Juventus, and another unidentified Serie A team have expressed interest. His current contract expires next year.

Hernandez and Andrea Cambiaso of Juventus are two full-backs that Man City is considering signing, according to a February 26 report from Thesportmoment. But now, the Saudi team Al Hilal has thrown themselves into the Hernandez competition.

Al Hilal enters the competition for the Man City full-back position.

Thesportmoment is aware that Al Hilal entered the Hernandez race with good intentions.

Hernandez's contract renewal with Milan has been on hold for almost a year, and the likelihood that he will sign a new contract is decreasing daily, as we disclosed in an update on May 20.

Furthermore, according to insiders, Al Hilal and Hernandez's representatives have been having discussions for about a month while keeping the talks under wraps.

Importantly, it is believed that the player has approved the continuation of negotiations and the evaluation of the entire extent of Al Hilal's offer.

According to reports, if an agreement is made, there probably won't be any significant obstacles between the clubs, even though personal issues are still being considered.

As early as January, when freshly promoted Como made an approach, Milan was willing to let go of the 26-year-old.

The Rossoneri are willing to cash in for a fee of about €30 million (£25 million) given his contract status.

A decision may be reached in the upcoming weeks, before to the June 14 commencement of the Club World Cup, as Al Hilal intensifies their search for one of Europe's best left-backs in an effort to improve their all-star team.
