Liverpool's primary target is an £84 million "exceptional" striker following Alexander Isak's FINAL decision.

A journalist claims that Liverpool has made Hugo Ekitike their top target as a possible Darwin Nunez replacement after discovering Newcastle United's position on the striker's future, as well as Eintracht Frankfurt's position on the player.

One of the world's top scorers, Isak has long been a target for Liverpool, according to Fraser Fletcher, Thesportmoment's transfer correspondent.

For Eddie Howe's team this season, the 25-year-old Sweden international made 34 Premier League games, tallying 23 goals and dishing out six assists.

Newcastle will compete in the Champions League in the 2025–2026 season after finishing fifth in the Premier League standings this year.

Isak will not be leaving Newcastle now that the Magpies have earned a spot in Europe's top club competition, according to Sky journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

According to the well-connected reporter, Liverpool is now considering Ekitike as a possible Nunez replacement for the number nine position.

Ekitike, who might fetch up to €100 million (£84 million, $114 million), finished third in the Bundesliga this season with 31 starts and two substitute appearances, scoring 15 goals and dishing out eight assists.

Tavolieri stated on X: Alexander Isak will remain in Newcastle after they qualify for the Champions League, as @David_Ornstein informed him.

Hugo Ekitike is currently Liverpool's top target for the number nine spot in the event that Darwin Nuñez departs for Saudi Arabia or Spain. #LFC #mercato.

The possibility of selling Hugo Ekitike to Eintracht Frankfurt

Despite having a rough experience at Paris Saint-Germain, Ekitike has made a name for himself as one of Europe's top young strikers at Eintracht.

Although Eintracht will compete in the Champions League the next season, Markus Krosche, the club's CEO, has acknowledged that the striker may depart during the summer transfer window.

On May 18, Krosche said to Sport1: "He's among the most intriguing strikers available in Europe.

I'm delighted we have Hugo, but he must make that decision.

We believe that if a player develops more quickly than we do, we let him go if he chooses otherwise.

Hugo is an outstanding player who was crucial to our Champions League qualification.

Given that he is only 22 years old, he undoubtedly still has a great deal of development potential.

Liverpool will be relieved to hear that Eintracht may be able to move Ekitike, but other teams have also shown interest in the standout striker.

Fraser Fletcher, Thesportmoment's journalist, stated on April 15 that three other Premier League teams will compete with Liverpool for Ekitike.

According to sources who spoke to Thesportmoment, the youthful striker is also highly admired by Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
