Liverpool is "knocking on the door" for a La Liga winger as a last-minute meeting may lead to a transfer.

According to reports, Liverpool is "knocking on the door" of a £50 million La Liga winger, whose future may be up in the air due to an upcoming meeting.

The Reds may soon have an attack that looks different from the one that won the Premier League.

At least one new offensive addition is anticipated, while Darwin Nunez is anticipated to depart for one.

Hugo Ekitike appears to be the preferred choice at Anfield at the moment, thus the No. 9 spot will be given priority.

However, a new winger might possibly join the team. According to Spanish publication AS, Liverpool and Arsenal are among the major teams that have been "knocking on the door" of Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.

Despite Kubo's seven goals and four assists from the previous season, Sociedad was unable to qualify for European football.

Given the lack of clarity surrounding the project and the departure of the club's manager and sporting director, the winger recently switched agents, and according to the report, his new representatives will meet with Sociedad next week.

Kubo may follow, and his €60 million (£50.3 million) release clause is undoubtedly attainable.

Liverpool has been following Kubo for a while.

In April, Thesportmoment disclosed that Kubo was among Liverpool's top offensive targets.

The Japan international was considered as a substitute for the possibly departing superstar, but that was before Mohamed Salah signed his new contract.

Liverpool doesn't urgently need a new winger, though, as Salah has inked a new contract.

Nevertheless, since Salah is 32 and Kubo is 23, he might soon start, even if the Egyptian's contract is only for another two years.

Thesportmoment will presumably monitor Kubo and determine whether they actually require him, as they are aware that communication with his representation has been continuing on since January 2024.

Liverpool roundup: Cunha was swerved by the Reds

It has been claimed that Liverpool considered pursuing Matheus Cunha, who will shortly join Manchester United, but decided against it because they weren't convinced by him, weren't sure where he would fit, and wanted to concentrate on Florian Wirtz.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal for Wirtz, an offensive midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen, won't take long.

Given that Milos Kerkez is rumoured to have accepted a move to Liverpool, another deal could soon take place at Anfield. To finalise the trade, the Reds are currently negotiating club-to-club with Bournemouth.
