For Real Madrid, Liverpool put a "impossible" price tag for Ibrahima Konate.

Ibrahima Konate has reportedly spoken out about his future and Liverpool has decided the price at which they would sell him as Real Madrid's position on including him in Xabi Alonso's team is made public.

Before the summer transfer window officially opens on June 1, Madrid has already handed Liverpool two blows.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has an agreement to join Los Blancos as a free agent after departing Liverpool.

Additionally, Madrid outbid the Premier League winners to get Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen.

Even with Huijsen's acquisition, Madrid is still looking for a new centre defender. Madrid's "dream target" is Arsenal star William Saliba, but the Spanish and European powerhouses are also considering a deal to get Liverpool's Konate.

The Merseyside team is attempting to persuade Konate to sign a new deal with them, as his current one expires in the summer of 2026.

Defensa Central claims that Madrid informed Alonso, their new manager, that Konate would not be available for a summer transfer.

The 26-year-old France international centre-back is expected to become a free agent at the Santiago Bernabeu next summer, according to the Spanish giant.

The source states that Alonso received the following message on Konate from the Madrid hierarchy: "It is impossible now because they are asking for €70million (£59m, $80m) and he has one year left on his contract."

Ibrahima Konate's remarks regarding his future at Liverpool

Since joining Liverpool in 2021 for £36 million from RB Leipzig, Konate has been on the team's books.

The defender has made a name for himself in the Liverpool squad, and his collaboration with Virgil van Dijk at the centre of the Reds' defensive was a major factor in Slot's ability to guide the Merseyside team to the Premier League championship in his first season as manager.

Over the weekend, Konate discussed his future and disclosed that negotiations are still going on to reach a new agreement with Liverpool.

"You know, I just want to say one thing: Everything you saw on social media is completely fake," the defender said on Sunday, according to the Liverpool Echo. I didn't even ask the club for anything.

To put it simply, I responded to their offer with something. I wish to wait until the very end for the remaining (speculation) parts. All of this is a complete fake, yet I want it.

Even the major media outlets stated in November that I was extremely close to signing the contract.

Oh, they know more than I do!" was my reaction. I was a little upset because it wasn't true at the time, which is why I was feeling a little angry.

I was never close to signing the deal, even though I knew at one point that people would assume I didn't want to. We'll see what transpires.

First of all, we won the Premier League title today, which makes me very delighted.

We must take pleasure in it, relax, and hope that the upcoming season will be better than this one. The [contract] question surprised me in this manner! (laughs) However, you are intelligent.

To be fair, it was simply incredible to win a trophy, especially the FA Cup, which was my first prize with Liverpool.

And I am aware that I have many goals with this team, including becoming a leader and winning everything, in order to win the Premier League today.

I'm thrilled to be fair here, you know. However, I am aware of the direction you wish to take this inquiry, and it is a different topic for discussion.

I don't know when, but let me say that we will see what happens in the coming weeks with the club and my agent.

Making progress? Not really, but I'm not sure what will happen when my agent visited with the team last week.

I can't tell you what my agent told me, but we'll see what happens. "Yes, without a doubt, this is an exciting time for this club since Virgil and Mo are two of its legends, leaders, and key members of the team, the club, and the city.

Everyone, including the club and the supporters, was undoubtedly thrilled when they signed. And, you know, in order to bring us trophies, we need to sign these players.

However, I believe that Virg and Mo were the two most contented individuals. They both wanted to stay here, I believe.

Alright, they spoke with their representatives, but I know they were determined to stay. However, we will definitely see now.

Current Liverpool news: danger from Bayern Munich and competition from Arsenal

The Spanish media reported that Dean Huijsen had suggested a top Liverpool target to Madrid.

The goal of Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta is to sign an Argentina international striker before Liverpool does.

In order to get one of Liverpool's best forwards, Bayern Munich intends to raid the club.
