Christian Pulisic's position on AC Milan's future following the announcement of Max Allegri's appointment, according to sources

As a new era begins at San Siro, USMNT forward Christian Pulisic is approaching a significant decision on his future at AC Milan following two seasons in Serie A, according to Thesportmoment. 

After joining AC Milan from Chelsea in 2023, Pulisic has made 100 appearances for the team, with precisely 50 coming in each season. 

With only two years left on his contract, the 26-year-old, who has scored 32 goals, is getting close to making a significant decision about where he will spend what may be the best years of his career.

Thesportmoment can disclose that Pulisic is now seriously considering extending his contract to remain at AC Milan after having some time to think about his future. 

The appointment of Igli Tare as sporting director and the hiring of Max Allegri as coach, eleven years after the conclusion of his initial stint with the team, which includes winning the Scudetto in 2010–11, have both contributed to the American winger's belief that the team is embarking on a formidable and ambitious project. 

A number of teams have expressed interest in Pulisic in recent weeks, but the player's mindset is being significantly influenced by AC Milan's unambiguous message to develop a strong long-term strategy.

Although a final decision has not yet been made, the discussions are moving forward. At first, the Rossoneri offered a contract extension through 2029 with a one-year option. 

The club is now getting ready to offer a straight deal through June 2030 in order to facilitate matters and demonstrate complete faith in the player. 

Talks with Pulisic's agency are still going on, and the coming days might be crucial.

Unless there are any shocking developments, an agreement in principle is anticipated shortly. 

The renewal of Pulisic would send another clear message to all AC Milan fans: the club is ready to forget the past and compete at the highest level.

AC Milan had a difficult 2024–25 season after firing new coach Paulo Fonseca in December. 

Under his successor Sergio Conceicao, the team finished seventh in the table, lost the Coppa Italia final, and missed out on European spots despite winning the Supercoppa Italiana.

With 17 goals in all competitions, including 11 in Serie A, Pulisic was their leading scorer. His career's highest scoring season was that one.

Meanwhile, AC Milan risk losing one of their other better players, since Manchester City are bidding for midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. 

Before the Club World Cup, City wants to sign Reijnders, but AC Milan wants a higher price than the €60 million (£50.6 million/$68.1 million) that is currently on the table.

Rafael Leao, a winger for Rossoneri, has drawn interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, according to Thesportmoment.

Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Barcelona are also monitoring his status, but once more, the Portugal international's choice may be influenced by Allegri's appointment. 

Regarding possible acquisitions, we disclosed last week that AC Milan is vying for Bundesliga defender Diogo Leite. 

Leite, who plays for Union Berlin, has also drawn interest from RB Leipzig. This season, he has been among Germany's top centre backs.
