Bayern Munich is prepared to begin Bruno Fernandes' negotiations with Manchester United following Florian Wirtz's rejection.

According to Thesportmoment, Bayern Munich may make a big offer for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes as a backup after losing to Liverpool in the competition to sign Florian Wirtz. 

Leverkusen star Wirtz has been the target of Bayern for months, but on Friday it was revealed that the 22-year-old had chosen to sign with Liverpool.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Arne Slot's team will now have to pay an incredible €150 million (£126 million) to get Wirtz, forcing Bayern to search elsewhere for a new attacking midfield player. 

Thesportmoment has learnt from sources that Bayern is a fan of Manchester United's Fernandes and may make a play for him after losing out on top target Wirtz. 

Fernandes may be grudgingly sold to help pay for the club's renovation this summer, despite the Red Devils and manager Ruben Amorim's best efforts to keep him. This was reported on May 22.

Man Utd must sell a number of players before they can bolster their roster after missing out on Champions League qualification. 

With 19 goals and 19 assists in all competitions this season, Fernandes, 30, is undoubtedly Manchester United's most valuable player.

However, a high price offer from Bayern could compel the team to part with their star player.

According to insiders, Bayern Munich is eager to begin working with Bruno Fernandes.

Thesportmoment is aware that Bayern is eager to meet with Man Utd's agents to discuss a possible Fernandes deal.

Vincent Kompany's team has shortlisted the 30-year-old attacking midfielder, who may now be a top target after missing out on Wirtz.

Although Fernandes is content to remain at Old Trafford, he will consider his options if Ruben Amorim's team decides to sell him.

But Manchester United isn't about to let Fernandes go for pennies. According to sources, they wouldn't consider a sale until a deal beyond £100 million was made. 

This indicates that Al Hilal, a Saudi Pro League team, will not be able to recruit the Portuguese star with the rumoured £80 million deal, however they may come back with a larger offer. 

Whether Bayern will match Manchester United's asking price for Fernandes is still up in the air. 

They were willing to pay a lot of money on Wirtz, but even if he were an excellent player, it's doubtful they would spend a lot of money on an offensive midfielder who is eight years older.
