As Manchester United worries about the defender's fitness for the Europa League final, an alarming Leny Yoro injury forecast

A BBC Sport reporter, a pundit, and manager Ruben Amorim have all voiced concerns that star defender Leny Yoro might miss the Europa League final. 

The teenager joined Old Trafford in the summer for £52 million from Lille, with add-ons pushing the deal over the £60 million mark. 

Although Manchester United celebrated beating Real Madrid to sign him, they did have to wait a while for the center-half to make his debut after he suffered a foot injury in preseason that kept him out of the first 21 games of the season.

However, Yoro has been an essential member of the United team since making his debut in December. His contribution to their run to the Europa League final has so far practically salvaged their season.

However, United is quite worried that its star defender won't be able to play in the showpiece, which is being held in Bilbao in just nine days. 

He was forced to leave the pitch after 52 minutes due to an injury he acquired during Sunday's bitter 2-0 home loss to West Ham. Victor Lindelof took the position of the young Frenchman. 

Speaking to MUTV, the former United defender has expressed concern that Yoro's season may be coming to an end and is already bracing for the Europa League final.

Brown went on to say: "He's thinking ahead when he covers his eyes and puts his shirt in his mouth for ten minutes.

Even if it's not a serious injury, he might miss the final. He would be a huge miss if he were hurt, but let's hope not. 

He has been an excellent player who keeps getting better. The injury completed a dreadful afternoon for United, who fell to 16th place in the Premier League after losing at home to West Ham for the first time in eighteen years. Amorim even acknowledged that he might need to reevaluate his position.

On Monday, Leny Yoro's injury will be evaluated.

Yoro's injury will be allowed to heal overnight before United sends him for a scan on Monday. The team's medical staff is also keen to evaluate the 19-year-old's health.

However, later in the day, BBC Sport correspondent Simon Stone gave supporters some hope that he could reach the plane. 

He posted an update on X as Yoro was leaving the stadium, writing: "Leny Yoro was not using crutches or wearing a protective boot as he left the stadium.

Meanwhile, Amorim has given the media an update as well. "We need to evaluate Leny more thoroughly tomorrow [Monday]," he stated. I believe it might have been a minor thing, but he felt something. 

He had that problem at the beginning of the season," the Portuguese manager continued, alluding to the broken metatarsal injury that kept him out of action at the beginning of the campaign. 

We hope it’s not too serious. Perhaps it's not a huge deal, but I don't want to give away too much.

It is unclear if Sunday's defeat will be Yoro's last game of the season. Yoro has made 31 appearances for United across all competitions.

However, a worrying story from last week stated that the teenager now "regrets" leaving France for Old Trafford.

It also came amid shocking rumours that super-agent Jorge Mendes is considering a move to a European superpower for the center-half.

There are also new questions surrounding Bruno Fernandes. According to the report, the midfielder is "concerned" about possibly not playing in Europe next season and is therefore "strongly tempted" to accept a big contract elsewhere if they lose to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday. 

Denzel Dumfries, who has been dominating the Champions League with Inter Milan this season, is someone Gary Neville has wanted United to sign.
