According to insiders, Man City is vying for the surprise signing of a former Norwich player.

According to Thesportmoment, Manchester City is thinking of making a surprise summer transfer for former Norwich City striker Gabriel Sara, but they will have to contend with competition from TWO Premier League rivals for the 25-year-old.

As Pep Guardiola tries to assemble a team that can once again rule European football, the Cityzens are preparing for a busy transfer window that could see a lot of players come and go.

Sara, a former Norwich midfielder who joined Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray last summer, is reportedly being pursued by Man City.

The Premier League is showing interest in the gifted midfield player, who has two goals and seven assists this season.

We are aware that Nottingham Forest, Wolves, and Man City are the three English teams who have enquired about his circumstances.

Although nothing is official yet, Wolves see Sara as a possible replacement for Matheus Cunha, who Manchester United is reportedly quite certain to sign this summer.

Sara's versatility appeals to potential admirers, as he can play in midfield as a No. 10, 8, or 6. Galatasaray can demand a high price for Sara's signature because his contract is set to expire in 2029, but he would be open to leaving if the perfect chance arose.

Sara is creating genuine interest in the Premier League. Galatasaray does not want to lose Sara, according to sources, but they are aware of the interest in him and that it is thought he would be eager to play for a team vying for titles in one of the best leagues in Europe.

Wolves may face difficulties as they will not be able to provide the midfield player with European football, which is fantastic news for Man City.

In contrast, Nottingham Forest still has a strong chance of qualifying for the Champions League and will likely participate in the Europa League or Europa Conference League at least next season.

When Norwich sold Sara last summer, they received a guaranteed £20 million, with an additional £2.5 million possible depending on bonuses.

They also have a sell-on clause. Although Sara's precise release clause is not mentioned, there have been rumours that English teams participating in the Champions League would have one. If so, Sara would be a very desirable choice and a player to keep an eye on in the upcoming weeks.

Gabriel Sara is who? Written by Samuel Bannister Gabriel Sara made his debut with Sao Paulo in his home country of Brazil, where he made 120 appearances. In 2021, he won their state league.

Norwich City, a Championship team, noticed him in the summer of 2022 and paid £6 million to bring him to England. With seven goals in his first season and thirteen in his second (plus one in the FA Cup), Sara had two successful seasons in the English football league's second division.

In 2024, Sara was enticed to play football in the top division when Galatasaray emerged victorious in the bidding. He made an immediate impression in the Turkish Super Lig.

By the end of October, Sara had contributed seven goals in the league, demonstrating his ability to play in the final third. Sara is a powerful midfielder who excels at dribbling and passing, making him a useful asset in the middle of the pitch.

He's all about action, so when it comes to Sara, action is the word. Although he started out as an attacking midfielder, he can now play anywhere in the centre.

His eyesight further enhances his excellent technique. He is able to identify and execute the crucial passes. It would be interesting to watch where Sara spends his time now that he is nearing the conclusion of his career.
