Real Madrid drops interest in the superstar after an agreement gives Arsenal a £100 million boost

Real Madrid appears to have given up on Bukayo Saka by agreeing to a rich new long-term contract with Vinicius Junior, which has given Arsenal a significant boost. Since joining Real Madrid as a teenager in July 2018, Vinicius has grown significantly and is now regarded as one of the top players in the world. 

With an amazing 25 goals and 12 assists in 40 games last season, the winger helped Madrid win the Champions League, La Liga, and Supercopa de Espana (Spanish Super Cup).

After missing out on last year's Ballon d'Or, which went to Manchester City midfielder Rodri, Vinicius was upset.

However, he has returned with a bang this season, scoring 20 goals and dishing out 14 assists in 46 games. Madrid may not have had the best season, and Carlo Ancelotti may be removed, but they still have a chance to win the Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) and the Spanish championship. 

Since the Saudis draughted a huge contract to entice Vinicius to leave the Bernabeu, there has been uncertainty around his destiny for the previous 12 months.

Fabrizio Romano, however, claims that the Brazilian is "on the verge" of agreeing to new terms with Madrid. The parties are nearing the end of their negotiations because they need to decide whether the new contract will be for five years or four years with an extension option. 

Vinicius "always wanted to stay" at Madrid, Romano continues. The Saudi Public Investment Fund attempted to offer him a staggering €1 billion (£857 million or $1.14 billion) to travel to the Middle East, but he declined.

Last week, it was revealed that Madrid had considered Saka as a top-tier signing choice in the event that Vinicius were to leave.

If Vinicius followed the money to Saudi Arabia, they intended to transfer Saka to the right wing and move Rodrygo to his preferred position on the left side.
