In order to surprise Real Madrid, Liverpool is negotiating an Alexander-Arnold deal.
The likelihood that Liverpool will be successful in persuading Trent Alexander-Arnold to turn off Real Madrid and sign new contracts with them, like Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, has been made public.
Two of Liverpool's greatest players have signed new contracts, and the team has come closer to winning the Premier League title in recent weeks.
When captain Van Dijk signed a contract a week later, Salah was the first to put an end to the rumours swirling around his future. Alexander-Arnold is now the centre of attention, since two of Liverpool's three out-of-contract players are still there. Furthermore, Liverpool still thinks they can pull off a huge shock by persuading the right-back to turn off Real Madrid, per two different reports.
First, according to Spanish publication Fichajes, Liverpool has made "one last attempt" to reach a new contract. Even though it was implied that Alexander-Arnold was "very close" to joining Real Madrid, the Reds were said to be "not willing to give up." "For their part, Liverpool is refusing to accept the loss of one of its most iconic players in recent times," the source continued. In an attempt to persuade the defender to remain on Merseyside, the club's staff are working nonstop to deliver a last extension offer.
Regarding transfer news, Fichajes is not regarded as one of the more trustworthy sources. A different story from the Liverpool Echo, however, made similar claims.
Liverpool "hasn't given up hope of him penning a new deal at Anfield," according to the report.
A move to the Bernabeu is all but guaranteed, according to the vast majority of publications and journalists, so whether the Reds will succeed is a different story. Discussions over Alexander-Arnold's future
There may have been some hope for Liverpool because of the impending turmoil at Real Madrid over their managerial position—Carlo Ancelotti is predicted to be fired by the summer at the latest. In fact, even if a player is a good fit for the departing boss, there's no assurance that the new boss, who is likely to be Xabi Alonso, will feel the same way about him.
But according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the club's plan to acquire Alexander-Arnold would not be impacted by Ancelotti's firing.
According to what I understand, Trent Alexander-Arnold is not being impacted by this (Real Madrid's new manager)," Romano said on his YouTube channel.
"That rumour is still completely true because Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid have an agreement that is still pending verbally at the last stages but has not yet been signed in writing.
Trent did not, therefore, bargain for a particular [Real Madrid] coach. During their negotiations, Trent and Real Madrid agreed that Alexander-Arnold would not be dependent on the coach's status.
Therefore, Real Madrid is determined to finalise a deal with Alexander-Arnold and views him as a key addition for the summer transfer window.
That is still the case. Mark Ogden of ESPN thinks Alexander-Arnold has already decided what he wants to do. Ogden asserted, "I think he's made up his mind and is going to leave." "He's had enough of chances to declare, 'I want to stay,' but even after the Leicester goal, I believe he sidestepped the subject about what's going on. He was really tactful.
Alexander-Arnold's late victory over Leicester was later referred to by The Athletic as his "parting gift" to Liverpool.
