Former Tottenham star thunders into the replacement battle with fresh Postecoglou TWIST.

Regardless of whether Tottenham Hotspur wins the Europa League this season, according to a recent report, Ange Postecoglou is expected to quit the team, and a former Spurs player is now vying to be his replacement.

Following a terrible domestic campaign that saw them drop to 16th place in the Premier League league after losing to Nottingham Forest at home for the 18th time this season on Monday night, the north London team will be undergoing a comprehensive summer overhaul of their football operations.

If Tottenham can defeat Bodo/Glimt in the semi-finals and then face either Manchester United or Athletic Bilbao in the final, they still have a chance to win European glory. The reward would be Champions League football the following season.

After a generally turbulent campaign in which the 59-year-old has frequently faced criticism from supporters, a Daily Mail article claims that Postecoglou will step on even if he is able to lead the team to their first major trophy in 17 years.

As previously reported by Thesportmoment, candidates for the position include Marco Silva of Fulham, Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford, and Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth.

Scott Parker, a former Spurs midfielder who led Burnley to promotion this season, reportedly has fans within the team as well, according to Mail Sport.

Although his playing style is sure to raise questions, Parker was well-liked by the club's supporters during his time in north London and served as a coach in the academy.

Parker is Postecoglou's complete opposite. Though much of his success has been based on a very resilient defence that has only allowed 15 goals in 44 Championship games, the former Fulham and Bournemouth coach has led them right back to the top level since taking over at Turf Moor last summer.

Although Iraola's appointment would be more consistent with Postecoglou's offensive style of play, "Parker-ball" would undoubtedly be more practical. In fact, Tottenham has scored the same amount of goals from 33 games this season, averaging 1.85 goals per game, while the Clarets have only scored 61 goals in their 44 games, averaging 1.39 goals per game.

A significant backstage shuffle at Tottenham might start with a manager change this summer, as Scott Munn, another Australian, is anticipated to go after serving as the team's chief football officer for two years. The football operation's many sections are being closely examined, and a number of adjustments are anticipated in fields including analytics, sports science, and medicine.

The head coach is not only to blame for a dismal campaign, according to The Mail, which also quotes an insider who claims that "nobody is safe" at the club.

One newcomer has already joined Tottenham: Vinai Venkatesham, who is prepared to take over as CEO in the summer. After playing for Arsenal, a rival team in north London, Venkatesham is well-liked, but it's unclear how much of an impact he will have at this point.

Many people believe that Levy, executive director Donna-Marie Cullen, and operations and financial director Matthew Collecott make all of the decisions, and some have questioned whether this may be changing now that Venkatesham has been appointed.
