Marcus Rashford, a Manchester United loanee, is determined to join one team "no matter what."
Marcus Rashford has already made up his mind about which team he wants to join in the summer, but in order to complete a move, the Manchester United sensation will need to make one concession. With nine goal contributions (three goals, six assists) in 16 games thus far, Rashford has excelled during his loan stint with Aston Villa. Manager Unai Emery has been impressed by the 27-year-old right away. In fact, he was selected to start in each of Villa's quarterfinal Champions League matches against PSG, ahead of Ollie Watkins.
Rashford does not have a future at Old Trafford, despite some speculations to the contrary, Thesportmoment has been informed. We are aware that he will be moving again in the summer, and if Manchester United wins, it will be permanently. Villa has a £40 million option to purchase the forward. Although Fabrizio Romano has indicated that a decision won't be made until the club finds out which European competition they're playing in next season, the Sun were adamant that Villa WILL exercise the option.
For instance, Villa would be less inclined to approve £40 million acquisitions if they merely made it to the Europa Conference League. Villa will still need to work out personal terms with the player even if they decide to exercise their option. And that will be difficult, according to a recent Sport update (via Sport Witness). Rashford reportedly has his sights set on joining Barcelona, which explains why. Barcelona is looming, but Rashford has to make a concession.
When Rashford's future came to a standstill during the winter transfer window, Thesportmoment earlier stated that he preferred to relocate overseas. Barcelona was his top choice among those that expressed interest. The La Liga powerhouses considered taking out a loan, but ultimately couldn't afford to make a move.
But according to Fraser Fletcher, our insider, Barcelona has continuously stated that they are still interested in Rashford after the January transfer window, and they might look into a permanent deal at the end of the current campaign.
That would be music to the ears of Rashford and Sport declare the attacker wants to join Barcelona ‘no matter what.’ Separate reports in Spain – albeit not very reputable ones – have spoken of Barcelona readying a €40m / £34m deal for the Englishman
However, before a transfer can be finalised, Rashford will have to compromise if Barcelona makes a compelling offer and pushes Aston Villa aside.
Rashford's weekly salary with parent club Manchester United is estimated to be around £325,000. Understandably, Sport insisted a large pay-cut would be required.
